No more annoying hitch rattle I have the make of truck that comes stock with a 2 1/2" receiver rather than the common 2". I use an adaptor to use all of my stingers with different sized balls. Unfortunately, this makes noise between the stinger and the adaptor and the adaptor and the receiver. I wasn't sure how the VehicleX hitch tightener would work, but it does great. As you can see from the photo, the plate reaches past the adaptor and tightens on the receiver. No more rattling!!

Unfortunately, this makes noise between the stinger and the adaptor and the adaptor and the receiver. I wasn't sure how the VehicleX hitch tightener would work, but it does great. As you can see from the photo, the plate reaches past the adaptor and tightens on the receiver. No more rattling!!

simple & effective My hitch has rattled for years. I snugged this up using the weakest setting on a low power impact wrench. Now the hitch is silent. This is simple & well made.The finish on this will hold up at least as well as the finish on your hitch.The only downside is the hasssle of getting out tools when I need to switch balls. I've eliminated all my 1-7/8" hitches. Most of my stuff is 2", except for a 2-5/16. So I'll have to take this off occasionally. It remains to be seen whether I keep this on all the time. I'll definately have it on before long trips, but every day use will probably depend on how often I switch hitches.If you never swap hitches, you'll love it.

    Now it doesn’t sound like I’m going to lose my trailer I got a trailer that I tow on occasion to take stuff to the dump. Whenever I hook it up, it bangs like crazy as I am driving. Put this little anti-rattle bracket on and it took care of the noise. Probably better on the hitch as well.

    Heavy Duty-Well Made-Works Well This hitch stabilizer works great and I have no negatives about the product itself, which is first class in all regards. It will work on a 2.5″ down to a 1.25″ hitch to stabilize and eliminate rattles/noise when using your hitch. They do have specific sized stabilizers for all sizes of hitches, but a bigger one will work on a smaller hitch if you need to use one.Construction is rugged and this will be something you won’t be wearing out with use. It is helpful to use a ratchet wrench when installing this…it makes the whole installation so much easier. As long as you remember to have the curved section of the plate facing towards the towed object, with the edge facing up, you’ll have no trouble setting this up. I used a silver marking pen and wrote top/bottom on the plate and truck/trailer at the ends so I’d always be putting it on correctly. If you have a set of punches, you could mark the plate with that also.Good product and well made.

    Fast and easy to install and tightened my bike rack up well with no excessive shaking I have a bike rack that I can usually hand tighten into my van hitch but it rattles and bounces up and down while driving as it’s not a perfectly tight fit into the hitch opening.The hitch tightener was easy to use/assemble and made the excess/loose movement all but disappear.As the video shows what it was like before I had installed it and after you can see there is a major difference and this could be a great benefit with towing a trailer as well.

    HUGE difference in Noise. No Clanking! Why did I wait so long to get one of these? This anti-rattle stabilizer seems very well made, of great quality, and super easy to install.Takes less than 5 minutes to install, and not that you need instructions but they are included. I usually have a bike rack with up to 3 bikes that makes a ton of noise while driving. Ask me how driving from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon and back was. (LOUD). I almost thought the rack might be falling off. I sometimes pull trailers too and am sure this stabilizer will make a huge difference. As you can see in the pics and video it makes it nearly silent now. Winning!

    No more clunking noises Recently had to make a trip across my state with a trailer with my new truck. I have had a time trying to figure out how to get rid of the movement between my hitch receiver and several different ball mounts. I could not find a single ball mount that would fit as tight in my new truck’s hitch receiver, as my older truck’s hitch receiver. I don’t understand why the newer trucks have a looser inner dimension than past trucks. The wobble and chunkily noises would drive me insane on short trips across town. And I damn sure didn’t want to tackle the 350 mile drive listening to all those noises. I didn’t have any noises with this device installed. Pleased with my experience.

    Matches my other hardware Just enough clearance to install upside down for my hitch skid. The tightener arrived in great condition.Super easy to install. Tightened down the hitch skid step and eliminated all the play.Bonus, the rubber coating matches the red rubber on the other hardware.Overall, great quality and I wouldn’t change a thing.

    High Quality, not sure how long the rubberizing will last Fit my 2” receiver perfectly, very high quality hardware, nice looking. The red rubberizing is showing some stress after a short period of time, this shouldn’t affect the operation but might not look so great. Overall nice product!

    Works for 1.25″… kind of. I have a 1.25″ hitch on my car, and the ball mount is a Curt Euro-style. This hitch tightener didn’t work for me when installed per the instructions — with the threaded end down. When installed this way, the bent portion that touches the ball mount wanted to slip off, since it is curved. However, when mounted upside down, it works perfectly. The only thing I had to do is cut off the excess threaded portion of the U clamp. To do this, I installed per the instructions and used a permanent marker to mark about 1/4″ of extra thread beyond the nut. I took it to the vise and used a cutoff wheel to get rid of the excess thread. Do this with the nuts installed so that you can back them off to clean up the threads where the cur was made. I then installed the hitch tightener — upside down — and ti works perfectly!For my previous car, I had a similar hitch tightener, but it only works if there is a lip at the opening of the hitch. The hitch on my current car does not have a lip, so there is nothing for it to grab onto. This hitch mound does not require a lip. I do wish they would make a version for 1/4″ hitches… but having said that, this thing is really beefy. I am certain that it will work well.

    It does what it is suppose to It will keep your hitch from moving around and I love the rubber coating around the U ring. No metal on metal contact and grips the hitch better.     Check after each use I like that this keeps my hitch and ball mount from wobbling around and making noise. It is worth noting that it will loosen up some with a trailer on. Definitely make sure you check it after hooking up a trailer, and when you stop. It does not help that my configuration has more slop in it than I would like to see, and I may get a sleeve, too, but something to keep in mind.

    It Works!!! We have only used this once – short 7 hour round trip. This completely eliminated the jarring sound of the receiver slamming as we hit bumps. We have a small (15’) fibreglass travel trailer. It’s super lightweight and I think more prone to bouncing. This was absolutely worth every cent!

    Works great but….. I bought this to use with my Locame 8″ drop adjustable aluminum ball mount hitch for my 2 1/2″ receiver. It would not fit this particular hitch as the bottom plate is too large. It will however work with my other non-adjustable ball mount hitches and do a great job. My only complaint is that I would like the U bolt to be made of stainless steel. Other than that, it’s heavy duty and well built.

    Doesn’t fit correctly, but still works I have a 2.5” hitch. The drawbar does not have a clean 90 angle- so the edge does not fit as shown in the description. It is a Weighsafe middleweight hitch. However, the item DOES hold everything tight and remove the slop from the hitch to the vehicle, so I kept it. I have not towed very far yet to see if it stays tight. Seems heavy duty.

    Stops Hitch Rattle This Vehiclex Anti-Rattle Hitch clamp was just the thing I needed to stop the “Slop” in the hitch and hitch receiver.     I found this great for my F350 with a 41 in hitch extension Bad reviews had me worried for my needs. But suprise. this worked well with my f350 and 41 in hitch extension. I did a 2900 mile trip towing a 101 in x 14 ft trailer total weight of 3500lbs and this did not loosen at all so the extension was held firm. I did get nyloc locking type nuts at TSC grade 5 and backed that with the ones from the kit to keep possible loosening down.

    Make sure of your setup and dimensions before ordering Would not fit based on my hitch setup. Base slots wouldn’t line up when u-bolt was placed on hitch as designed. Weigh Safe 180 hitch spacing it too short. Used my tools to cut u-bolt and add 1/2” to width. Dipped in Plasti Dip. Made 3/4” round stock to fit under Weigh Safe hitch( Plasti dipped it too). Everything works great and no more rattling. Not vendors fault but make sure of dimensions before ordering

    No more wobbling when I use my hitch platform with my extender. My hitch cargo platform was much to close to the truck when mounted so I got a hitch extender but the combination was loose and when loaded the platform would rock back and forth every time I when around a turn. I ordered this and when I installed I noticed how tight the fit was but once I loaded up the platform I was (and still am) very pleased with the results, no matter how much weight I put back there I get NO wobble or sounds from it any more. I highly recommend this for anyone with a hitch receiver that has looseness – it’ll fix the problem!

    Use a thread lock compound I got this as my trailer would push and pull the draw bar, making noise and an unnerving feel. I put it on an it has stopped the movement I didn’t want. The only slack in the system now is the actual hitch connection, and that is minimal. Due to vibrations, I used the blue thread locking compound. I also no longer have to worry about someone stealing my draw bar. This thing is really secure.

    It’s beefy Paired with a bulletproof hitch on a 1ton. To keep the rattle down stopped all up and down movement and all most no side to side when forced. Its beefy 3/4″ nuts . Play with the placement or it Could block safty chain holes. Will update if something changes.

    Not bad but could be designed better The hitch tightener works quite well when installed but the installation could be designed better. The two nuts that you need to tighten are on the bottom so they are awkward to get at. If the device was designed with the nuts on the top they would be a lot easier to access. The length of the bolts may interfere with the vehicle’s bumper if the nuts were on the top so a better design might require a bit of effort.

    Good value. As described. I would suggest this unit over a stainless steel one. Stainless does not thread very well and is not as strong as good steel. Be sure to use never seize compound especially if it is being left on your vehicle for prolonged periods or if salt water is nearby. Good value.

    It’s what we were looking for. Works great! Used on a 2.5 inch receiver towing a trailer with a 550lb tongue weight. Wish the rubber was a little better though. When tightened down the rubber is starting to tear.

If you have low clearance like on a crossover, you may scrap the Ubolt when leaving a lot with a dip. Varies by clearance scratches but did not bend or break so far.

    simple & effective My hitch has rattled for years. I snugged this up using the weakest setting on a low power impact wrench. Now the hitch is silent. This is simple & well made.The finish on this will hold up at least as well as the finish on your hitch.The only downside is the hasssle of getting out tools when I need to switch balls. I’ve eliminated all my 1-7/8″ hitches. Most of my stuff is 2″, except for a 2-5/16. So I’ll have to take this off occasionally. It remains to be seen whether I keep this on all the time. I’ll definately have it on before long trips, but every day use will probably depend on how often I switch hitches.If you never swap hitches, you’ll love it.

    No more annoying hitch rattle I have the make of truck that comes stock with a 2 1/2″ receiver rather than the common 2″. I use an adaptor to use all of my stingers with different sized balls. Unfortunately, this makes noise between the stinger and the adaptor and the adaptor and the receiver. I wasn’t sure how the VehicleX hitch tightener would work, but it does great. As you can see from the photo, the plate reaches past the adaptor and tightens on the receiver. No more rattling!!

    Beefy construction and galvanized to prevent corrosion This anti-rattle hitch receiver is a very well built and beefy construction. The plate is also galvanized and then powder coated while the U-bolt (sturdy .44″ diameter) has a rubber coating over it for protection from the elements. The kit includes the plate, U-bolt, nuts and lock washers and an instruction sheet so everything is there to get this installed quickly and easily. IT works with both 1.5″ and 2″ receivers as well. Definitely a heavy duty anti-rattle device and I would recommend it.

    Heavy Duty-Well Made-Works Well This hitch stabilizer works great and I have no negatives about the product itself, which is first class in all regards. It will work on a 2.5″ down to a 1.25″ hitch to stabilize and eliminate rattles/noise when using your hitch. They do have specific sized stabilizers for all sizes of hitches, but a bigger one will work on a smaller hitch if you need to use one.Construction is rugged and this will be something you won’t be wearing out with use. It is helpful to use a ratchet wrench when installing this…it makes the whole installation so much easier. As long as you remember to have the curved section of the plate facing towards the towed object, with the edge facing up, you’ll have no trouble setting this up. I used a silver marking pen and wrote top/bottom on the plate and truck/trailer at the ends so I’d always be putting it on correctly. If you have a set of punches, you could mark the plate with that also.Good product and well made.

    Now it doesn’t sound like I’m going to lose my trailer I got a trailer that I tow on occasion to take stuff to the dump. Whenever I hook it up, it bangs like crazy as I am driving. Put this little anti-rattle bracket on and it took care of the noise. Probably better on the hitch as well.
